Brockley Jack Studio Theatre

The Jack Studio is a vibrant performance space situated in south east London. The Jack offers a diverse theatre programme throughout the year, and is also home to film, Scratch Nights, comedy, cabaret, the Jack Writers' Workshop, community festivals and arts events.

The theatre provides high quality, accessible and affordable productions for south London and beyond, with seasons of both innovative revivals and dynamic new writing.

Kate Bannister (Artistic Director) and Karl Swinyard (Theatre Manager) produce and programme theatre at the Jack, directing all in-house shows. Since 2005 they have produced over 160 creative events.

WRITE NOW 3
The Jack Studio launched Write Now 3 in September 2011. This annual Festival is designed to discover new writing talent and give emerging playwrights the opportunity to see their work performed.

2012 FINALISTS
We are delighted to announce the plays selected for this year's festival. These are Borderland by Carol Vine, Emoticon by Melissa Bubnic and Skin Head by Jessica Brown. The productions will happen in April 2012.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their plays. Thanks also to Lin Coghlan, Simon James Collier, StoneCrabs, and the BBC Writers Room for their help in the final selection of plays for performance.

Artistic Director Kate has received the audience award as director of Let There Be for the Off Cut 2011 Festival at Riverside Studios.
Kate and Karl have been awarded Best Venue Directors in the Fringe Report Awards 2011.

Writing Workshops: Jack Writers' Workshop, Writers Ink, Writers Hub and Write Here: New writing is vital to the Jack. In 2011 we launched Writers Ink and Writers Hub to offer further opportunities to writers with scripts in development.

Throughout the year we offer a number of rehearsed readings, workshops with actors, script surgeries and feedback opportunities. The current programme of the Jack Writer's workshops started in September 2011. In January 2012 we launch Write Here, two new community writing workshops, which culminate with performances in March.
