REVIEWS
I would truly recommend you to go and see it. The music was spectacular, the acting was amazing, the storyline ... had the audience captured from start to finish and the Brockley Jack Studio itself was a lovely venue. Definitely make time to go and see this Remotegoat****
a powerful piece ... be prepared to leave Brockley Jack Theatre with a hell of a lot to think back on ... No Rhyme is definitely worth catching Pappzd
Pennant has a natural flair for dialogue, particularly the colloquial banter between the two clubbers, which bounces backwards and forwards with scattergun rapidity...the audience become completely absorbed in the complicated love lives of these girls...all five of the performers attack the piece with energy and commitment...The entire team of No Rhyme is to be congratulated on an excellent production A Younger Theatre
an admirable debut play British Theatre Guide
Nushka’s planning revenge, Pepper’s plans backfire and Jayde is nowhere to be seen. Katya hates her job, Lizzie can’t leave hers and a young girl hovers between life and death.
Enter a world where a disrespect can mean more than a life, where being different makes you the target. No Rhyme is a raw new play about youth on youth crime and the struggle to find answers. It’s New Year’s Eve. When tragedy strikes who will walk away?

Mandrake by Machiavelli
Adapted by Howard Colyer
Directed by Scott Le Crass
Mandrake - Machiavelli's greatest sex farce.
Callimaco wants Lucrezia: Lucrezia is married to Sir Nicia. Sir Nicia wants children. Ligurio wants to please both Callimaco and Sir Nicia. But what happiness can Lucrezia find? And Siro, the unpaid servant, how can he turn things to his advantage?
It's about marriage, lust, adultery, corruption and deceit - all aided by the Mandrake Infusion. Machiavelli's comedy is one of the landmarks of the Italian Renaissance - it marks the break with Medieval drama and is the forerunner of Shakespeare's comedies.
It played to packed houses in the Florence of the Medici; in Venice it was so popular that the audience overwhelmed the stage and made it impossible to complete; and in the Vatican it made Leo X and his cardinals delirious with delight over the play's scenes of clerical corruption. And it has remained popular ever since.
Howard Colyer is a playwright and novelist. His previous works include Trojan Women (2013), Kafka V Kafka (2012), Finchley Road (2012), Homework (2011), Conference Call (2011) and The Overcoat (2011). His novels include Gregory Gun and Oldshaw. And he has also translated Kafka’s Letter to my Father.

The Importance of Being Earnest
by Oscar Wilde
Directed by Barrie Addenbrooke
In 1950s London the debutante circuit is not what it was, so even the formidable Lady Bracknell is having to add to her list in order to marry off daughter Gwendolen. But Jack Worthing's chances are still slim, as it seems he can only trace his lineage back to - a handbag!

Measure for Measure
by William Shakespeare
presented by Immersion Theatre
A city on the brink of self-destruction.
Brothels flourish, corruption is the only currency, and vice reigns in a city where incompetent leadership has handed power to the masses and is now powerless to stop the spread of immorality.
The powers that-be turn to the seemingly righteous Angelo, desperate for order to be restored. However, a danger of a very different kind is about to terrorise the city when appearances prove to be deceptive and power falls into the wrong hands.
Following their Off West End-nominated production of Julius Caesar, Immersion Theatre are thrilled to return to the Jack Studio to present one of Shakespeare's darkest comedies in their unique and gritty style.

TWO EDINBURGH FRINGE PREVIEWS: 25 July
MICHAEL FABBRI: BUFFERING
Michael Fabbri was nominated Best Club Comic at the 2012 Chortle Awards, and supported Mickey Flanagan on his Out Out tour. And now he’s bringing his all new 2013 show to the Brockley Jack.
Michael Fabbri already has the tricks of observational stand-up.. but he also has an abrasive left-field oddness that lifts him above the herd. Although he looks at first glance like a typical slacker comic, Fabbri is always an outsider. His startling mildly Marty Feldman like eyes and awkward apologetic onstage manner steer him firmly away from the alpha male mainstream... his isolation provides the ideal backdrop for his startlingly insightful, martian-like deconstructions of the most unpromising everyday things.
James Kettle, The Guardian
LIAM MULLONE: GAME OVER
Liam Mullone’s dark, clever comedy has been gaining a steady following for years, while his caustic writing talents have bolstered the sets of many better-known comedians such as Henning Wehn and Andrew Lawrence. Now, signed up for the next series of Stewart Lee’s Alternative Comedy Experience, he’ll be getting the audience he deserves.
An unheralded but hugely talented standup, this is brilliant, bitter comedy... each routine is studded with beautifully-crafted gags The Guardian
His show stays with you for hours, if not days, after it finishes. This is the mark of a true great. The Skinny
Simmering stand-up; a highly entertaining two fingers up to programmed guilt and shame. Arts Desk (Telegraph)
Mullone is an intellectual bruiser of a comedian. This is classy stuff. Chortle

Sarah and Sophie are estranged school friends attempting an ill-fated reunion. Mari makes peace at her mother’s grave whilst Loretta gate-crashes her childhood sweetheart’s wedding.
Separate lives. Separate stories. But what these women share is the strength of spirit and resilience to survive when the world is up against them.
